The Keester seat cushion is designed by Dr. Steve Fahringer and is manufactured by our family owned-and-operated business in Las Vegas, Nevada. Our idea for The Keester was to provide a product that took the principles we had learned in our 20+ years of experience in the comfort and pain-relief business and apply them to the one thing everyone needs: a comfy seat!
Why we designed The Keester
Our quest to help others eliminate pain and achieve comfort stretches back more than 20 years. We started in the foot business, personally fitting customers with arch supports designed to align feet in their ideal position for pain relief, comfort and support.
With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020, we observed friends and loved ones working and studying at home. They were often using non-supportive, uncomfortable makeshift equipment to create their home office: kitchen stools, dining chairs, benches, beds, even the floor. These choices were causing poor posture, and complaints of hip, back, and neck pain were heard. We knew there had to be a solution.
After examining seat cushion products on the market (like your grandfather’s hemorrhoid doughnut), we used our years of experience in arch-supports, physiotherapy, and chiropractic to create an alternative seat cushion with a solid foundation and soft, plush materials.
And so, The Keester was born! Our design utilizes a firm, supportive base attached to a thoughtfully engineered, soft, contoured memory foam cushion. This unique combination is designed to help improve posture, align the spine and pelvis, and foster long-term comfort on just about any seat.
Who is Dr. Steve?
Dr. Stephen A. Fahringer, D.C. is a Doctor of Chiropractic with 25+ years of experience as a licensed chiropractor, physio-therapist, and business owner. Dr. Steve has made it his mission to find new ways to improve the lives of his friends, family, and clients through innovative products and techniques. The development and evolution of The Keester has strictly followed the tenets of ethics and efficacy that Dr. Steve holds dear in his personal and professional endeavors.
After years as a licensed and practicing chiropractor, Dr. Steve began to see a pattern not only societally, from those looking for relief from back pain, hip pain, sciatica, arthritis, and the effects of poor seated posture, but also personally from sitting on non-supportive chairs at home during the pandemic.
Dr. Steve and the Fahringer family have been fortunate to lean on their years of experience in foot orthotics to integrate those principles into creating the world’s first butt orthotic!
